With this dialog you decide what CODEC to use and what attributes to use for the specific CODEC. A CODEC is a driver like any other driver installed in you operating system except a CODEC is a driver audio file. A CODEC tells the operating system how to store audio files. Which DLL files you will use.
This is the name you save your options as for example CD Quality.
This is the format for how you save your wave files. For example, Pulse Code Modulation (PCM), MP3, ADPCM.
Here you can decide what attributes to use for the specific CODEC you have chosen. For example if you use Fraunhofer MP3 ACM CODEC you can set the attributes to 44.1 kHz 16 bit stereo and 128 kbit/sec.
Save the options as the name given in field name.
Remove the name given by field name. The attributes can be chosen again when you later wants to save another set of options.
Set the chosen options and close the dialog. The options you have chosen will be used the next time you record a track. If for some reason the CODEC (driver) has been removed after you have saved the options or if you never have saved any options the recording will not work properly.
Quit without saving the options.
